1996 Atlanta Olympic Kayak Pin ~ Carrying On The Winning Tradition (Error Pin)

1996 Atlanta Olympic Kayak Pin

Carrying On The Winning Tradition ~ ERROR Pin

Gold-tone enamel pin with the Atlanta 1996 torch logo and Olympic rings, "100" and "Atlanta 1996" on the left. On the right, a circle shows a white kayaker on a blue star over red and white stripes. The ring text reads "CARRYING ON THE WINNING TRADIT ON". This is an ERROR pin: it reads "Tradit on" instead of "Tradition", with the I missing, a misspelling made at the factory when it was produced by HoHo, which made a number of pins with spelling errors. Error pins like this are a collector's curiosity. The back is stamped "TM © 1992 ACOG, HoHo NYC, China" with a single post and butterfly clutch.
